Another daughter of late Mohammed Alabi Lawal, a former Governor of Kwara State, has clinched the ticket of the All Progressives Congress to contest for the Ilorin East constituency in the state House of Assembly for next year’s general elections.

Arinola Lawal scored 47 votes to defeat her rivals Ali Jimoh and Smile who scored 13 and zero votes respectively.

She resigned as the state Commissioner for Enterprise to take a shot at the primary election.

DAILY POST recalls that Arinola’s younger brother, Hakeem Lawal, also won the Social Democratic Party’s governorship ticket at the primary election of the party held on Wednesday in Ilorin.

Hakeem beat his rivals with 33 votes to emerge the winner of the contest.
