Niger State Governor, Alh. Abubakar Sani Bello has
directed security agencies to deal decisively with any form of thuggery as well as those carrying and displaying dangerous weapons.

Bello stated this while speaking to journalists shortly being declared winner of Niger North (Zone C) Senatorial District primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with a landslide margin.

He urged politicians to conduct their campaigns in an orderly manner so as not to over heat the polity in the state.

The Governor also called for a peaceful electioneering process ahead of the 2023 general elections, while decrying the use of too much money during campaigns by politicians in the state.

” The too much use of money in the political system will not guarantee good governance,” he lamented.

Out of the 435 registered delegates, of which 343 were accredited, the governor scored 335 votes to defeat his rival Senator Aliyu Abdullahi Sabi who garnered 7 votes and 1 invalid vote.

Declaring the results in Kontagora, the Niger North retuning Officer, Adamu Abdulkareem announced the incumbent Governor of Niger State having polled the highest votes is the winner of the primaries.

Expressing joy on his victory, Bello applauded the smooth conduct of the exercise that produced him as the flag bearer of the APC, saying,” this indicates that the 2023 general elections will be successful”.

He then called on all those that have lost to be patient as they may have better opportunities ahead while thanking all those that made efforts to ensure that he wins the Senate ticket of the APC in Zone C.
