The former Director-General of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu presidential campaign team, Abdulmumini Jibrin Kofa, has formally defected to the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP.

Kofa shared a picture on his Facebook page where he was holding a basket of vegetables, which is the symbol of his new party.

Reports had it that Abdulmumini Jibrin Kofa was not happy that he was subjected to go through primaries with Ali Datti Yako, instead of having an automatic ticket.

This is also coming as the Deputy Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Zubairu Hamza Massu, member, representing Sumaila Constituency and Hon.Ali Ibrahim Isa Shanono, representing Bagwai/Shanono State Constituency, all defected to the NNPP.

The two lawmakers officially notified the House of their defection in separate letters dated May 13, 2022, which were addressed to the Speaker of the House.
