The Bichi Local Government Area of Kano State, the centre for the Kano North Senatorial District All Progressive Congress, APC, primary elections, went agog as Senator Barau Jibrin recorded a landslide victory.
The Senator, who won all the 697 delegates’ votes following the stepping down by Governor Umar Abdullahi Ganduje as part of the reconciliation efforts between the APC stakeholders in Kano.
Delegates, who came from the Northern District of the state’s 16 local government areas, started arriving at the venue of the election as early as 10 am while affirmation of the main contender, Jibrin commenced around 5 pm.
Responding to his re-election to contest the Kano North Senatorial District seat, Jibrin assured that he will continue to carry along everyone from the area regardless of party affiliations.
Jibrin said his reelection was testimony that Kano APC was one strong family who believes in the progress of the state, commending Governor Ganduje for his fatherly role in handling the affairs of the state.
