A female aspirant vying for the Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency seat, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Susan Waibode Kiridi, has raised the alarm over alleged hijacking of materials meant for the conduct of the party’s primaries in the state.

The aspirant was joined with other stakeholders of the party in a protest at the state’s APC Secretariat, along Mbiama/Yenagoa road.

According to her, “We got here in the morning and were addressed by the State Chairman and the electoral officials from the National Secretariat, after which electoral materials were given to Returning Officers for the constituency, but to our amazement, we got downstairs and everything changed.”

“Till 3pm, we are still here and there’s no hope for election, we ought to have moved to our constituencies for the exercise that was to be a direct mode of voting, but I am still here.

“We don’t know where they have taken the materials to, we were only trying to sort out the modalities for movement of the materials and personnel before they zoomed off. My agent tried to raise the alarm but they pushed him and drove off. We don’t have access to materials, we don’t know their whereabouts.

“They claimed they were on their way to Sagbama, and we don’t believe them. Party leadership has to look into the matter and call them to order, this is not an election, they are going to write the results themselves, that is their arrangement and I will not be a party to this. The election should be cancelled.

“Some persons and a ranking member of the party and their loyalists hijacked the materials and drove off. The instruction was that we should move differently to our destinations but they disobeyed because they already had an ulterior motive, they were not ready for the elections that was why they orchestrated that act which was sponsored by my co-contestant, Hon. Michael Olomu,” she alleged.

When DAILY POST visited the party Secretariat, the Woman Leader of the party, Hon. Jolly Ebiere Akpobassa, was sighted with the aggrieved persons, but every effort to hear from her proved abortive.
