Former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville has identified Tottenham Hotspur forward, Son Heung-min as his Premier League Player of the Season.
Neville believes Son gets overshadowed by everyone, adding that he is a special player.
Recall that Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne won the Player of the Season ahead of Son, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.
Son scored 23 goals in 35 league outings for Tottenham this season.
The South Korean scored twice for Spurs in their 5-0 win against Norwich City on the final day of the season last weekend, helping Antonio Conte’s men secure Champions League qualification.
“I named Son as my Player of the Season. It could’ve easily gone to Kevin De Bruyne because every time we watch him, we are blessed. Salah easily could have been Player of the Season, I think I named him in other quarters,” Neville said on The Gary Neville Podcast, as quoted by Sky Sports.
“But Son, to do what he has done at Tottenham, he does get respected, and he would be taken by any top club in the world, but I thought he deserves something. He is a special player. He gets overshadowed by everybody, even Harry Kane but well done to him, Tottenham and Antonio Conte.”
