A former Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Isa Adamu Bawa, has won the Kwara North Senatorial ticket.

He won with 132 votes to beat his contender, Hajia Aishat Ahman Patigi, who scored 28 votes in the primary election held on Monday.

DAILY POST reports that in Edu Local Government, Bawa got 26 votes, while Aishat scored three votes.

Bawa scored 31 votes in Kaiama Local Government, with Aishat getting zero vote.

In Patigi Local Government, Bawa got 29 votes, while Aishat received two votes.

For Moro Local Government, Bawa scored 44 votes and Aishat seven votes, while in Baruten Local Government, Aishat scored 16 votes and Bawa received one vote.

Recall that two other Senatorial candidates from Kwara Central and South, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi and Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim, respectively had emerged as consensus candidates for their Senatorial Districts at their primaries on Monday.

They were affirmed by delegates of the party at the primary elections in their respective local government areas.
