Mr. Lanre Sarumi has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ibadan North Federal constituency in Oyo State.

Ibadan North Federal Constituency is one of the constituencies under Oyo South Senatorial District.

DAILY POST reports that Sarumi emerged as the candidate of the party at the primary election held at Sango area of Ibadan on Monday.

DAILY POST recalls that the party had fixed yesterday as the date for the House of Assembly and House of Representatives primary elections ahead of 2023 elections.

The primary election was, however, postponed till today, Monday.

Our correspondent reports that thirteen aspirants contested the election.

DAILY POST gathered that Lanre Sarumi was declared as the winner of the election which started Monday morning.

The result of the election was announced Monday afternoon.

The result shown that Sarumi defeated twelve other aspirants to emerge as the candidate of the party ahead of 2023 elections.

Those who lost in the election included Abiodun Awoleye, Bolanle Sarumi, Olusegun Olaleye and Seun Olufade.

Others are Taiwo Lekan Salami and Toyin Balogun and six others.
