Former Paris Saint-Germain manager, Unai Emery, has given his verdict on Kylian Mbappe’s decision to remain with the Parisians despite interest from Real Madrid.

Emery, who is currently the coach of Villarreal, said he respects Mbappe’s decision to remain at PSG but believes it came too late in the season.

According to the former Arsenal manager, it is not good for football.

Asked for his opinion on the Mbappe deal, Emery was quoted by MARCA as saying: “It’s a very personal decision, but it has come too late.

“I appreciate the kid a lot and I respect his decision, but not the timing or the form. It’s not good for football.”

Mbappe, over the weekend, announced his decision to extend his deal with PSG.

The France World Cup winner signed a three-year deal, bringing an end to one of the most enthralling transfer sagas in recent memory.

Recall that Real Madrid were interested in Mbappe and made an offer to sign him as his deal in Paris was about to run down.
