Paris Saint-Germain president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has revealed that winger, Angel Di Maria will be remembered by the club’s supporters as a player of impeccable spirit.

Al-Khelaifi said this while paying his tributes to Di Maria as the player is set to leave PSG this summer.

PSG on Friday confirmed that Di Maria would leave the club upon the expiration of his contract after seven years with the French champions.

Di Maria will play his final match for PSG at home to Metz on Saturday, the last day of the Ligue 1 season.

“Angel Di Maria has definitely marked the history of the club,” Al-Khelaifi said.

“He will be remembered by supporters as a player of impeccable spirit, who showed unwavering commitment to defending our colours.

“I invite the whole Paris Saint-Germain family to meet [Saturday] at the Parc des Princes to pay him the tribute he deserves.”

Di Maria joined PSG from Manchester United back in 2015.

In 7 seasons with PSG, the 34-year-old played 294 matches, scoring 91 goals and registering 111 assists.

The Argentine international has not been able to help PSG win the Champions League, though he did get a runners-up medal in 2019/2020.

The former Real Madrid star has been linked with a move to Juventus.
