Cyriel Dessers can’t hide his excitement following his return to the Super Eagles after a two-year absence.

Dessers was overlooked by former Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr despite his impressive club form.

The 27-year-old made his Super Eagles debut in a friendly against the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in October 2022.

The forward, who was born to a Belgian father and Nigerian mother has failed to add to his one cap since then.

The former Utrecht striker has another chance to stake a claim for a regular shirt in the Super Eagles following his invitation for the friendlies against Mexico and Ecuador.

“Really happy to be back. Looking forward to the game. I hope to see the fans in Abuja”Dessers told the Super Eagles media.

Dessers enjoyed a superlative campaign for Eredivisie side, Feyenoord Rotterdam.

He was the top scorer in the UEFA Europa Conference League with 10 goals from 12 appearances.
