Stamford Bridge is the destination for Barcelona striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on transfer deadline day.

Chelsea are growing increasingly confident of signing the former Arsenal captain after Chelsea owner, Todd Boehly threw in left-back, Marcos Alonso as part of the deal in his latest transfer offer to Barcelona.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are desperate to sign a new striker before 11pm on Thursday following the departure of Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan.

Aubameyang left Arsenal for Barcelona only in January 2022, but has emerged as Chelsea’s top target and there is a growing confidence at Stamford Bridge that the deal will be reached today.

The Gabon international has largely impressed during his brief spell at the Nou Camp, netting 13 goals in 24 appearances for the La Liga giants.

But Barcelona are ready to sell him in order to bring in some much-needed funds. The report added that though Manchester United are interested in bringing the Gabonese to Old Trafford, Chelsea are leading in the race.

Sky Sports reports that the Blues’ latest offer would see defender, Alonso head to Barcelona in a player-plus-cash deal for Aubameyang.

It added that all parties are ‘positive, hopeful and willing’ to iron out a deal before the transfer window shuts at 11pm on Thursday.
