Southampton has hijacked the Manchester United deal for PSV star, Cody Gakpo and is confident they can get a deal done for the Netherlands international before Thursday.

TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook reports that the Saints are pushing to get the deal over the line for the PSV winger.

Manchester United had shown serious interest in signing the player this summer.

Meanwhile, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe looks set to unleash the club’s record signing Alexander Isak on Liverpool in tonight’s Premier League clash.

New £58 million signing Isak was unable to make his debut in the 1-1 draw at Molineux on Sunday because his work permit had not been processed.

But the Times reports the Home Office has now issued a visa for the Swede striker which means he will be available to feature at Anfield tonight.
